Windows XP “you may be a victim of software counterfeiting”

After installing your genuine copy of Microsoft Windows XP you are prompted with a “Your software is counterfeit” error message at startup. Even after visiting the www.microsoft.com/genuine/ site and validating, you still get the above message popping up after 2 or 3 boots. There is an easy solution to this and I would like you to follow the steps below to fix the issue.

1. C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files

Within that folder, remove any files or folders associated with .WGA

2. Safe Mode

Reboot your computer and as soon as Windows logs off, start repeatively tapping the F8 Key on your keyboard.
As soon as you see the Windows Advanced Startup options select Safe Mode within Safe Mode get yourself into these folders…
C:\Windows\System32 (Rename wgatray.exe to wgatrayold.exe)
C:\Windows\System32\dllcache (Rename wgatray.exe to wgatrayold.exe)
Note: Dllcache is a hidden folder, to view hidden folders do the following, go to Start, Control Panel, Folder Options,
Select the view Tab and under the Hidden Files option, select Show hidden files and folders

3. Safe Mode Registry

Click on Start, Run and within the open dialog box type regedit and click OK.
Within the Registry Editor navigate your self to
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\WGALOGON
Right Click and Export the WGALOGON Folder (this should be saved onto your machine for backup purposes)
After Exporting the folder, DELETE the WGALOGON folder
After deleting close all applications and Restart your machine back to Normal Mode

4. www.microsoft.com/genuine

Get into the site above and manually re-validate your copy of Windows.
After being prompt of a successful validation, Restart your Machine.

Forward Yahoo mails to Gmail.

Recently, my friend asked me how I forwarded Yahoo mails to Gmail. He was telling me how he was facing some problem to get Yahoo emails to Gmail. Oh, then I remembered the same problem i faced. Actually, when you try to get other account (i.e. yahoo) emails to Gmail from Gmail account, probably you will see this bellow message:

“There was a problem connecting to pop.mail.yahoo.com POP access is limited to Yahoo! Mail Plus subscribers. Please contact Yahoo! Mail’s support team for more information“

Uhm – so you need Yahoo mail Plus eh? Crap!

Ok then let’s go to Yahoo mail, let’s see if we can forward emails to our favorite Gmail!

First of all, Yahoo’s new mail service doesn’t support forwarding yet! So what you have to do is, go back to classic version. Then follow this …

Go to here:

Option -> POP Access and Forwarding

: select forwarding, write down your email (i.e. example@gmail.com)where you to forward your email. Just follow the procedure. A link will be send to your Gmail account to activate it. Once you activate it, you are done – now you can go back to your previous version of Yahoo!

I have read so many questions how to unlock password-protected memory card. This happens very frequently to some of us (including me). Usually for security reasons, we protect our memory cards with password. It can be done from Memory Card application by selecting Options | Set password menu.

For S60 1st and 2nd Phones

What should we do if we forget the password? For S60 1st and some of 2nd phones, such as Nokia 3650, Nokia 6600 and Nokia N-Gage, the password is stored in a plain text file.

Firstly, you need to install FExplorer, a free file manager that allows us to browser through S60 file system.
Next, launch FExplorer and then browser to c:\system folder. There is a file, called mmcstore.
Rename the file to mmcstore.txt and then open it. Your password must be several characters at the end of the file.
